Firefly are an established group who have performed at hundreds of weddings and corporate events throughout south east Qld. Guaranteed to deliver a thoroughly polished and professional performance, their large repertoire of music spans 5 eras of jazz. Whether you require smooth, cocktail lounge music, swinging up tempo dance tunes or a selection of French, Latin and Folk, Firefly will compliment your event perfectly.
Kylie Southwell and Paul Henderson graduated from the Qld Conservatorium of music in 1999/2000. Since then they've been performing together and individually with some of Brisbane's finest musicians. The trio is formed with the addition of bassist Peter Walters for a swinging, up-tempo performance and the 'Firefly Quartet' is formed with the addition of Drummer Mark Henman. The Quartet is able to encompass each and every delectable style that the jazz era has to offer, from ballads and sultry blues to funk/jazz/afro feels.
Whichever flavour of jazz your event requires, firefly will illuminate your night!

Our function was a resounding success. And dealing with “ Bands Australia” and Firefly duo was such a pleasure. Right from the start your communication was so great that I felt that I didn’t have to worry about my musicians not turning up etc. Your assistance with helping me understand what is involved in hiring entertainment and what I have to do was so very helpful. It was much appreciated.
Firefly duo were superb. They showed up in great time for starting and were so friendly and warm. Their talent far exceeded their sound bite on your website( which I fell in love with) and they were so talented. My clients are still talking about the music.
I am thinking of hiring them for my 60th birthday in a few years but will recommend your website and them as often as I can.
