LOUISE ISACKSON DUO
Born in Sydney Australia, raised in Brisbane, Louise spent much of her
early childhood listening to her parents’ piano playing and singing. “My
mother was a huge fan of Nina Simone.” Her earliest memories were of seeing
plays, musicals, operas and ballets, classical concerts.
By her teenage years, Louise found herself immersed in the art world, whilst
studying vocal technique at the Brisbane conservatorium with a range of
teachers, both male and female. Her vocal training started with a classical/operatic
approach and moved naturally into jazz and contemporary styles. Regular
duo and group gigs followed before she was offered a six month contract
in Japan as part of a jazz cabaret band.
