SOULZU
SoulZU is an experienced and professional 12-piece dance and show band.
They specialise in highly danceable Afro-American Soul, Funk and Disco
music from the 1960s to today. With a large playlist, SoulZU always keeps
it fresh and interesting and can move easily from the raw power of James
Brown to the smooth disco-pop of Jamiroquai and everything in-between.
SoulZU makes people dance and always gets you coming back for more! Originally
from Melbourne but now based in Brisbane, SoulZU has a reputation for being
professional, reliable and most importantly, entertaining. This is no manufactured
play-by-the-numbers kind of show. With their charismatic singers, passionate
music and a funky raw energy, this 12 piece band offers a sophisticated
and fun show with an impressive energy that is rarely seen in a covers
band.
Where Have We Played?
SoulZU is one of the hardest working bands in Brisbane and has performed
at many venues and private functions, some of these included residencies
with the exclusive Barsoma in Fortitude Valley, The Lord Stanley Hotel
in East Brisbane, and The Broadway Hotel in Woolloongabba. They were the
headline act at the Grand Opening of The Fox Hotel in South Brisbane and
the Grand Re-Opening of Oxford 152 in Bulimba. SoulZU has also performed
for the Queensland Turf Club and The Queensland State Government’s Western
Corridor Recycled Water Project.
The Band Options
12 Piece: SoulZU has a regular 12-piece lineup as follows: 3 lead singers
(1 male & 2 females), 4 piece horn section (bartione sax, tenor sax,
alto sax and trumpet), keyboard, drums, bass and rhythm guitar, and our
manager/sound engineer.
10 Piece: 2 lead singers (male & female), 3 Horns, keyboard, drums,
bass and guitar.
SoulZU selects their band members for both talent and reliability, and
together the 12 members have over 110 years of experience entertaining
audiences! Collectively our musicians have performed all over Australia,
North America and Asia and have performed with the likes of James Brown,
Helen Reddy, Tower of Power, The Grand Wazoo and Kate Cerbrano to name
a few.
